Simple DIY Pipe Shelving
I didn’t consider myself a DIYer until I started a blog (so…today as I’m typing this), but I’ve been a DIYer most of my life. I was raised by a single mother on a very modest income, so we had to do things ourselves if we wanted the dang thing to get done. Grateful for this as it has allowed me to take on some pretty intimidating projects without too much fear. That all being said, this project is quite the opposite. It’s super easy!
We originally made these for my daughter’s room in our old house, but after an unexpected move, they turned into my office shelving. Win for me! We simply snagged some piping at Lowe’s, fitted it all together. Gave it a good clean and rattle canned it a satin black. We already had these reclaimed pieces of wood in our garage. Easy one day project anyone can do.
This is what we used for the paint and it is holding up really well. The key is to use light coats and allow to dry in between. I’ve used it for faucets and exterior lights as well and have been super impressed with how well it holds up.
The only picture I have of us installing was in the last house. Here’s my dorky husband checking the strength of the pipe, LOL. He screwed them directly into a stud. They are bomber.
