Nightstand Glow-Up
Honest truth, I never intended to actually keep these loathed nightstands when I started this project. I just thought it was a good practice piece before I touched something I actually was attached to. But, guess what?! I love them!
Let’s check out where we started. Dark, scratched up, dated looking….all around mess. That all being said, these are actually pretty well made and solid. I like to have significant drawer space for my books, earplugs, notepads, tarot cards…you know, all of the essentials. Have you ever searched up how much nightstands cost? UGH! A decent quality one is out of my budget right now, so it seemed like a no brainier to attempt to salvage these.
Cute, right?! Here’s the supply list for this project:
Scrap 1/4” plywood cut down to size for the new drawer fronts
Scrap tongue and groove pine cut and sanded down to make custom knobs (my favorite detail)
Painter’s Tape (I used the blue tape I had on hand)
Benjamin Moore sample size paint in Amber Waves and Chantilly Lace
Water based poly in satin finish
