Nightstand Glow-Up

Honest truth, I never intended to actually keep these loathed nightstands when I started this project. I just thought it was a good practice piece before I touched something I actually was attached to. But, guess what?! I love them!

Let’s check out where we started. Dark, scratched up, dated looking….all around mess. That all being said, these are actually pretty well made and solid. I like to have significant drawer space for my books, earplugs, notepads, tarot cards…you know, all of the essentials. Have you ever searched up how much nightstands cost? UGH! A decent quality one is out of my budget right now, so it seemed like a no brainier to attempt to salvage these.

Cute, right?! Here’s the supply list for this project:

• Scrap 1/4” plywood cut down to size for the new drawer fronts

• Scrap tongue and groove pine cut and sanded down to make custom knobs (my favorite detail)

• Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer

• Painter’s Tape (I used the blue tape I had on hand)

• Benjamin Moore sample size paint in Amber Waves and Chantilly Lace

• Water based poly in satin finish

• Half rounds

• Titebond wood glue
